      They aren't universal and can vary not only from brand to brand but also depending on the country of origin. The best you can do is check for yourself which size corresponds to your particular instrument

    I hate to be that guy but 2 comments… 1, there are some shallow but visible scratches from the steel wool left on the rosewood, I would have gone over the wood and frets with a little 1000, and then 2000 grit polish or sand paper to get those out and smooth everything over, plus gets the frets started a little before hitting them with the polish solution 2. even more nitpicky, but why are you taking off the tuners and bushings? That seems unnecessary for a simple fretboard cleaning, and introduces risks like stuggling to get the alignment of the tuners back, or knocking one of the post holes too wide and risking a tuner not seating properly. I feel like a good rule of thumb is to not do any invasive work to a guitar like removing fragile and carefully balanced elements unless you really need to. It’s just not worth the risk otherwise. Why introduce the risk of having to refill a post hole when you can clean the board without removing them?

    • @hadrosaurus
      @hadrosaurus 3 дні тому

      where are the scratches? i don't see any. also, if you're going to put the work into the fretboard and you've got the strings off, then why not clean everything else? The parts come off easily enough and if im gonna diy it, i'd rather have a feeling of completion than a half assed job. and finally you hate to be "that guy" and yet here you are. this uploader made a very helpful video, and it's like you're just on here to talk about what you would have done. why even bother watching? To the person who uploaded this, ignore this weenie and thanks for the useful video!

    Hey thank you posting this. We just performed a restring on my son's Schecter E-1. We followed all steps and double checked each as we went. All was fine until we reached the Step of tuning the low E using the claw. After doing this the tremolo was too high at rear? I had to then muck around for quite a while getting it back down so it was level again and of course also in tune? I am sure we did every step as shown

    Replicating the curved shape of the string that comes off the Bigsby is unnecessary. Just grasp the two flat sides of the ball end with long nose pliers and roll the pliers so that the string starts to wrap around the pliers. You just need to curve or bend the string. You don't need to actually match the shape of the string that you just removed from the guitar.

    ChatGPT’s take on it: Using a guitar pedal with a built-in buffer to reamp sounds is technically possible but comes with some caveats. Here are the main points to consider: 1. **Impedance Matching**: A reamp box is specifically designed to convert the low-impedance, line-level signal from an audio interface or mixer to a high-impedance, instrument-level signal suitable for a guitar amplifier. A guitar pedal with a built-in buffer may not perform this impedance matching as effectively, potentially resulting in a less accurate or desirable sound. 2. **Level Adjustment**: Reamp boxes often include level controls to properly match the signal level to what a guitar amp expects. A typical guitar pedal with a buffer might not offer the same level of control, leading to signal level mismatches that could affect the sound quality. 3. **Noise and Ground Loop Isolation**: Reamp boxes typically have features to minimize noise and ground loop issues, which can be a significant problem when interfacing different pieces of audio equipment. A guitar pedal with a buffer might not provide the same level of isolation, potentially introducing unwanted noise. 4. **Signal Path Considerations**: Guitar pedals, even with buffers, are designed to work within a pedalboard setup and might not handle the line-level signals from an audio interface as cleanly as a dedicated reamp box. This could lead to signal degradation or other audio artifacts. **Practical Use Case**: - If you're in a pinch and don't have a reamp box available, you can try using a guitar pedal with a buffer. Place the pedal at the end of the signal chain from your audio interface, and then route the output to your guitar amp. However, be prepared to deal with potential issues related to impedance, signal levels, and noise. **Better Alternative**: - For consistent and high-quality results, investing in a dedicated reamp box is recommended. Reamp boxes like the Radial ProRMP or the Little Labs Redeye are specifically designed for this purpose and will ensure the best possible sound when reamping. In summary, while a guitar pedal with a built-in buffer can be used as a makeshift reamp solution, it may not provide the same quality and reliability as a dedicated reamp box.
